T-Max® Manager FAQs

The T-Max® Manager is a front desk control unit for the T-Max® 3A and T-Max® 3A Intercom Timers.

1. When trying to set a session manually from the Manager, I can set the time but the session will not start. Why?

Check the key position on the side of the Manager. If the key is turned to the lockout position (lined up with the white line or parallel with the Manager) the Start/Stop buttons have been disabled. Turn the key fully clockwise (perpendicular with the Manager) to operate the Manager manually.

2. If I unplug my Manager from power while tanning sessions are still running, will their sessions be interrupted?

No. Once time has been sent to a timer and the delay time starts counting down, the timer will not be affected by unplugging the Manager, checking parameters, changing parameters, or changing security codes. The only command that will affect time sent to the timer is if you try to auto address your system. That interrupts all tanning sessions.

3. The Manager does not see any beds, and the displays show dashes all the way across. What should I do?

Try Auto Addressing your salon (make sure no one is tanning when you do this). Refer to page 5 in the Manager Manual. If none of the timers buzz “99” in the auto address sequence, try replacing the cable between the Manager and the first timer in the daisy chain. If the Manager still does not communicate, you may need to replace communication chips in the Manager and/or your timers.

4. The Manager is only reading bed number 1. What should I do?

Check the maximum bed number setting. Refer to Section 3.1.4 on page 9 of the Manager Manual. If the number displayed in Display 3 is equal to or higher than your maximum bed, check the cable between the first bed and the next bed in the daisy chain.

5. When sending time from the computer, the session does not start counting down. Why?

Try sending time manually from the Manager. If the session starts manually, check the communications (cable, comm. ports, etc.) between your computer and the Manager and also check your software settings. Use the Adnet 2000 program to check communication.

6. The Manager is showing the numbers 1-8 displayed and doesn’t respond. What does this mean?

The Manager has lost it’s programming or the program has been corrupted. If you have your Manager connected to a computer, open the Adnet 2000 program. Under “Manager Utilities”, click on “Download Program from PC to Manager.” Refer to the Adnet 2000 manual, page 18.

7. The Manager is alternating between all dashes and the numbers 1-8 continuously. What does this mean?

The Manager is not getting sufficient power. Check your power supply. Try plugging your Manager into a different outlet. Replace the power supply if the problem continues.

8. The Manager is beeping continuously and the display shows an E7. What does this mean?

When the Manager is initially powered up, it will scan for beds. After scanning, if for some reason it no longer sees one or more beds than it did before, the Manager will beep and show an E7. Check to make sure that all your timers are plugged in and connected to the daisy chain. Unplug the Manager from power and plug it back in. The Manager will rescan.

9. Either occasionally or continuously, the Manager shows an E6 in the display of one or more beds. What does this mean?

This is an indication of bad or corrupted communication somewhere in your line. First unplug your Manager from power, unplug all your timers from power, wait about 4-5 seconds, then plug the timers back in. Plug your Manager back in last. If you still get the E6 error, you may have a bad cable or bad communication chips and further troubleshooting will be required to pinpoint the source of the problem.
